Growing up in a small town in the middle of Germany, Maren Langer is a director currently based in Berlin. Her work resembles what can be described as fine-art filmmaking.
Maren’s distinctive understanding for highly aesthetic, multi-sensorial storytelling has been fine-tuned by her studies in fashion design and visual communication at Berlin University of the Arts as well as filmmaking at Pratt Institute New York. She does not only create moving images but in doing so manages to put ‚inner worlds’ in motion.
With her perceptive and intuitive approach, Maren focuses on strong conceptional narratives. By blurring the lines between documentary and fiction while bringing a strong female voice and her exceptional sensitivity to the film industry, Langer shifts and sensitizes perspectives on how we see, perceive and create our world.
